Limits of Confidentiality – There are some situations in which we are ethically and legally obligated to take actions that may be necessary to protect you or others from harm. If such a situation arises, we will make every effort to fully discuss this situation with you, before taking any action, and will limit our disclosure to what is necessary:

1. If we have reason to believe that a child or vulnerable adult is being neglected or abused;

2. If we believe you present a clear and substantial danger of harm to yourself or another/others, we are ethically compelled to take protective actions;

3. If we have reason to believe that you have become gravely disabled; and/or

4. If we receive a subpoena by an appropriate Court jurisdiction.

Emergencies – In some instances, you may need immediate help at a time when we are not available. If the emergency involves thoughts of harming yourself or others of committing dangerous acts please contact 911 or Ross University Security.
